I am so happy we've met :-)
As a make-up artist, make-up enthusiast and lover, I constantly search for new products. You name it - I have purchased and tried countless primers, foundations, concealers, lipstick shades and formulas, mascaras, etc. It's been a month since I came back from 5-week tropical vacay. Naturally, I have to adjust my foundation and BB cream shade. I noticed that my favourite Make-up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer slightly changed in consistency. Any product you haven't used in a while will have this tendency. The trick is to warm it up with your fingers before applying it on your face and ensure that you do it little by little - meaning no bigger than a pea-size. Make-up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer is still my favourite primer. But somehow, I have this urge to try something new. But I will still be able to continue my favourite go-to's. Before I include a new product in my professional kit, I have to ensure that I have tried it numerous times. With that said, I have to test it in fluctuating temperatures and changing weather, lighting or time of day.
This past Thursday, I was doing my mobile shopping on Sephora's app. After glancing through several brands, the TOO FACED primer line piqued my curiosity. To be honest, I am already a fan of the brand's Better Than Sex Mascara and have bought it numerous times. It makes miracles on my short, thin lashes (no need for falsies unless I want more impact). I am not their brand ambassador (I wish) - I am just a happy customer and self-proclaimed make-up connoisseur. Suddenly, a rush of excitement ran through my veins, and I trekked the cold to Sephora - by the way, this is how I am when I want something - rain or snow - I will go and get what I want; I just simply can not wait!
I excitedly tried it in the morning. Primer first => then a pea-size of MAC Lightful C Tinted Cream SPF 30 in medium deep, blending it with my fingers and smoothing it with MAC Soft Point Sponge Applicator => then setting it with Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder. I enhanced it with Too Faced Candlelight (to be honest, I have to buy it very soon - for some reason, I think they have repackaged it and shades combined in duos' - I could be wrong, but that is another story) for a soft highlight and a natural flush on my cheeks using Tarte's blush in Captivating. With this selfie using my Iphone 6S - I swear no filter was used except for the natural sunlight coming from my balcony door. So far, I am happy with the outcome. Also, with this look, I used one coat of my favourite mascara and finished my lips with Inglot Lip Pencil/Crayon in #24 and layered on top with MAC PatentPolish Lip Pencil in PatentPink.
Before I decide to include a new product in my professional kit - I make sure I have used the product several times in different conditions. I will determine if I will establish a long-term relationship with my new product discoveries (the two products shown above). I will use this product for the next two weeks, observe more, and blog about it.
