Just sayin’.....

Just sayin’...

Wow, this is becoming a terrible habit. Another super delayed post and leaving you all hanging!!!! My blog post differs from a bag of tomatoes left in the fridge for weeks growing moulds and all that funky stuff.

Anyways, I guess it’s best not to apologize anymore; better late than not to do it at all. After all, it is already a given that my usual defence would be because of my hectic schedule due to work, work and more work - a big YAY to that, but I don’t want to lose your interest in visiting my page to read my blog.

Cutting to the chase… Let’s talk beauty now, the exciting stuff. Whenever a new make-up line is created, especially by a pro, I get excited and curious. In the last week of July, Holt Renfrew’s Brighten Up For Summer promo took place (10% of the net total on cosmetics and fragrances purchases will go towards a gift card which you can use later on for selected merchandise purchases). It actually doubled my motivation, and before heading out of town, I rushed to the Charlotte Tilbury counter and hyperactively asked for the new mascara (Legendary Lashes) and picked a shade similar to my usual from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Hot Lips collection (obviously, I chose the “Kim K.W.” shade as it is my go-to favourite).

Typically, I would go home and try these right away. But I had to wait because I didn’t want the lipstick to melt from the hot weather at the cottage. Monday finally came, and I tried the goodies. One tip about mascara application is never to rush when applying it. Usually, it’s okay to do so if I am already used to the brand and formula consistency. So I did my 5-minute make-up for work and got disappointed the first time I did a stroke of the mascara. Because of the semi-gloss formula, it needs a few seconds to dry it in between applications. Not to blame the mascara; instead, I from rushing during application. The lipstick, as predicted, didn’t create an adverse reaction for me because I loved the texture and application.

I don’t give up quickly with new products I have tried, even if I develop an instant dislike after first use. Generally, I would give it a few chances to appreciate it, maybe more later or conclude that it’s a toss for me. At approximately $40 (with taxes) for the mascara tube, I surely do not want to waste it! So I used it with other mascaras; I do my make-up in the morning each day. Oops, I forgot to mention that one trick of mine when I apply mascara is to combine two different formulas. Depending on my mood and the look I wanted, I always use one formula for building and the other for finishing. Unfortunately, it’s not always a one-shot process for me.

Using it for the entire week, after several mascara combinations each morning, I realized that the problem was not the mascara - I found out that it was my application sequence and that ticking clock. Finally, the day has come to determine what I think of the Legendary Lashes mascara. After working on a wedding entourage on a Friday with soaring 40 degrees temperature, I washed my face and started a clean slate. The look I am going for is something cutesy chic with an uptown attitude matching it with a high ponytail because of the heat. Voila - lemme me share with you all that it passed my expectations with flying colours. The glossy formula complimented the dark eyeshadows I played with. And one thing I also changed for that application is that I used only one recipe and finished it off with a lash comb (for separation).

Yes, it took me five days to love it. But my experience created a new, lasting relationship with Charlotte Tilbury’s Legendary Lashes Mascara.
